Take turns drawing one line between neighbouring dots and claim the boxes you close. Whoever draws the fourth side of a box takes it and moves again at once, so a single careless line can hand over a whole run of boxes. Your opponent is Mori the raccoon, who always answers the same position with the same move.
How to play
- Choose a board size on the start screen. Only the 3×3 box board is open at first, and you always move first.
- Tap an empty line slot to draw it. On a keyboard, the Arrow keys hop between open slots and Enter or Space draws; on a gamepad use the D-pad and A.
- Close a box with its fourth side and it gets your mark, and you move again. If your line closes nothing, the turn passes to Mori.
- When every box is taken the game ends and the side with more boxes wins. You score 100 points per box you own, plus 1,000 for a win or 300 for a draw.
- Winning 3×3 opens 4×4, and winning 4×4 opens 5×5. The Next button on the result screen takes you straight there.
Strategy tips
- Never draw the third side of a box that already has two. Mori takes every box it can close.
- Mori also avoids giving away third sides, so late in the game both of you run out of safe lines. When that happens, hand over the shortest run of boxes.
- When you are handed a long chain late in the game, take all but the last two boxes, then draw the line at the far end of the chain so a single line closes both. Mori takes those two, then has to open the next chain for you.
- Mori plays the same move in the same position every time. After a loss, replay the same line and change only the move you regret.
