Tessa's Tile Link guide
A Shisen-sho puzzle where you pair off matching picture tiles until the board is empty. The path joining two tiles may only cross empty cells and bend at most twice, but it is allowed to run around the outside edge of the board. The 12 levels, growing from 4×4 to 8×10, and the daily board are all laid out so they can be cleared completely, and stars depend on your time.

How to play
- When a level starts, the clock counts up from 0:00. Check your time, the par time and the tiles left at the top.
- Tap one tile to pick it, then tap a tile with the same picture. If an empty path with no more than two bends joins them, the path flashes and both tiles vanish.
- Tapping a different picture moves your selection to that tile, and a matching pair with a blocked path shows 'The path is blocked'. There is no penalty for a wrong tap, so look for another route.
- When no pair can be joined, press Shuffle (S). It re-deals the remaining tiles into a clearable layout, twice per board.
- Clear the board to finish. Within par with no hint or shuffle earns ★★★, within 1.6× par ★★, otherwise ★, and clearing level 4 opens the daily board.
Strategy tips
- Tiles on the edge can use the outside ring as a path, so they are easy to join. Clear pairs from the outside in to open routes for the inner tiles.
- Boards often hold four or more copies of a picture. When several pairs are joinable, take the one whose removal opens a path for other tiles.
- Hint (H) makes one joinable pair sparkle, three times per board. Any hint rules out ★★★, so save it for when you are about to miss par.
- If no pair can be joined and no shuffles are left, the board is lost. Once shuffles hit zero, check that each pair you remove does not seal off the remaining tiles.
- The score is 1,000 per star, 10 per pair removed and 5 for every second you finish under 1.6× par. On levels you know well, play faster for points.
Common questions
Can a board be impossible to clear?
Every starting layout has an order that clears it. Depending on the order you choose you can still get stuck midway, and a shuffle turns the remaining tiles back into a clearable layout.
Why does the board look different in landscape?
On short landscape phone screens the board is turned 90 degrees. Which tiles neighbour each other and which paths connect stay the same, so the rules do not change.
What is the daily board?
A 6×9 board with 15 pictures and a three-minute par that opens after you clear level 4. Everyone gets the same layout on the same Korean calendar day, and your best stars and score for the day are recorded.
When does the clock stop?
Pausing, or switching to another tab or app, stops the clock and saves your progress. When you return you continue on the same board at the same time.
