클로이의 네잎 피크닉 guide

Drop flower discs into a seven-column, six-row board with Chloe the picnic planner, and line up four before your rival does. The rival plays clover discs and reads further ahead at each of four levels: Easy, Normal, Hard and Master. Undo and a threat view let newcomers see exactly why a game slipped away and learn from it.

How to play

  1. Choose a difficulty on the start screen. Only Easy is open at first. You move first on Easy and Hard; the rival moves first on Normal and Master.
  2. Tap a column and your flower disc falls to its lowest empty cell. On a keyboard, pick a column with ←→ and drop with Enter or Space, or press 1 to 7 to drop straight into that column. On a gamepad use the D-pad and A.
  3. Four of your discs in a row, column or diagonal wins. If all 42 cells fill first, the game is a draw.
  4. Undo (U, gamepad X) takes back your last move and the rival's reply together, up to three times per game.
  5. A win unlocks the next difficulty. Check your score on the result screen and move straight on.

Strategy tips

  • The middle column, number 4, is part of the most possible lines of four. Keep your first and early moves close to the centre.
  • Turn on Threats (T, gamepad Y): ★ marks a column that wins now, ! a column you must block or lose next turn, and ✕ a column that would open a winning cell for the rival right above your disc. Stay away from ✕ columns.
  • A win scores 1,000 plus 20 for every one of the 42 cells still empty. Faster wins score higher, and each undo costs 100.
  • On Normal and Master the rival often takes the centre first. Stack on top of it or settle in the next column to share the middle lines.
  • Hard and Master always answer the same position with the same move. After a loss, replay the same line and try a different move at the turning point.

Common questions

Why does the rival move first on Normal?

The first move alternates by difficulty: you start on Easy and Hard, and the rival starts on Normal and Master.

How do I unlock Master?

Win on Easy to open Normal, on Normal to open Hard, and on Hard to open Master, who reads seven moves ahead. A draw does not unlock the next level.

What do I score if the board fills up?

A draw is worth 300 points. In a loss you get 10 points for each of your discs on the board.

Sometimes I cannot use Undo.

Undo only works on your turn and only after you have made a move this game. Once all three are used, the button switches off.
