Rina's Bottle Sort guide

A water-sorting puzzle where you pour coloured water between four-layer bottles until every bottle holds a single colour. There are 30 levels that grow from 3 to 12 colours, and from level 13 some levels hide the lower layers behind a '?' until they reach the top. There is no timer and no way to fail; instead your stars and score depend on how few pours you need compared with the par.

How to play

  1. Each level starts with one full bottle per colour plus two empty bottles. Check the 'moves / par' readout at the top for your pours so far and the target.
  2. Tap a bottle to lift it, then tap the bottle to pour into. The connected run of the top colour moves across as far as it fits; tapping the lifted bottle again cancels.
  3. Water only goes into an empty bottle or onto the same top colour. A bottle holds four layers, so check the free space in the target first.
  4. A bottle filled with four layers of one colour gets a ✓. The puzzle is solved when every bottle is either full of one colour or empty.
  5. Finish within par without the extra bottle for ★★★, within 1.4× par for ★★, otherwise ★. Each clear unlocks the next level, and clearing level 4 opens the daily bottles.

Strategy tips

  • Empty bottles are your most valuable space. Use one only to gather a whole colour or to uncover the bottom of a mixed bottle, not as a parking spot for any colour.
  • Collect a colour in the bottle that already holds the most of it. The connected top colour moves in one pour, so colours kept in blocks finish in fewer moves.
  • Undo works five times per level, only for the last five pours, and it does not reduce your move count. If you are chasing stars, plan two or three pours ahead before pouring.
  • Add bottle gives you one extra empty bottle per level, but using it rules out ★★★. Keep it for when you are truly stuck.
  • Hint (H) makes the next pair of bottles sparkle and has no limit. It does not affect stars, so use it to find your bearings on hidden-layer levels.

Common questions

What if no pour is possible?

When 'No pours left' appears, undo to an earlier state, add the extra bottle or restart the level. You can never fail, and your unlocked levels and best scores are kept when you restart.

How do hidden layers work?

On hidden-layer levels only the top layer of each bottle is visible at first and the rest show '?'. Pour the water above it away and a layer shows its colour once it reaches the top; a revealed colour stays visible even after an undo.

How is the score calculated?

A solved level gives 500 points plus 300 per star, and every pour you finish under twice the par adds 20 more. Replaying a level with a higher score replaces your best.

What are the daily bottles?

A one-day board that opens after you clear level 4. It mixes nine colours, and everyone gets the same layout on the same Korean calendar day. You can replay it; your best stars and score for the day are recorded.
