연의 리버시 정원 guide

Play reversi on an 8×8 board against Yeon, who keeps the garden's game tables. Trap your opponent's discs between yours horizontally, vertically or diagonally to flip them all, and when neither side can move, whoever has more discs wins. The board is split into four regions and the chosen one is shown with large cells, so you can hit the exact square you want even on a small screen.

How to play

  1. You play black and move first. The game starts with two discs of each colour placed crosswise in the centre four squares.
  2. Choose one of the four regions on the whole board (top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right) to show that 4×4 area with large cells. Dotted cells are where you can place a disc right now.
  3. Press a large cell to place a disc and every trapped opponent disc flips. Arrow keys move between legal cells and Enter or Space places; a gamepad uses the D-pad and A.
  4. The opponent replies after a short pause. A side with no legal move is skipped automatically, and the game ends when neither side can move.
  5. Finish with more discs to win. Score is 10 per disc of yours plus 1,000 for a win or 300 for a draw, and a win unlocks the next difficulty.

Strategy tips

  • A corner disc can never be trapped, so it never flips. Taking a corner first lets you extend safely along the edges beside it.
  • The square diagonally inside a corner and the squares right next to it tend to hand that corner to your opponent. Avoid them while the corner is still empty.
  • Flipping lots of discs early is not always good. Moves that give you more options and your opponent fewer set up chances to take corners later.
  • Hint (H) works three times per game and marks a move found by looking a few turns ahead, opening its region for you. Save them for the midgame, when the fight for corners begins.
  • Your final disc count is added straight into a winning score. Once the win is secure, pick moves that flip a few more discs to raise it.

Common questions

What if I have no legal move?

Your turn is skipped automatically and the opponent moves again. The same happens when the opponent is stuck, and if neither side can move, the game ends on the spot even if the board is not full.

How do the difficulties differ?

Easy looks only one move ahead, Normal three and Hard four, weighing square values and how many moves each side has. Beating Easy opens Normal, and beating Normal opens Hard.

Is there an undo?

No. Instead you get three hints per game to check a suggested move when you are unsure.

Can I continue an unfinished game?

The board is saved on this device after every move, so reopening the game restores the same position, paused. Leaving the tab pauses it automatically.
