Kiki's Crystal Pop guide

A tap puzzle where you pop groups of touching same-coloured crystals and meet each cave's goals within a move limit. Goals mix collecting a colour, melting frost on the floor and breaking crates that stay fixed in place. Big pops create rockets, bombs and prisms that clear large parts of the board, and every colour has its own ◆▲●■⬢ mark, so colour vision is never required.

How to play

  1. Press Play to open level 1, First sparkle (a 7×8 board with 18 moves). Check the moves left and the remaining count for each goal at the top.
  2. Tap a group of two or more crystals of one colour touching up, down, left or right. They pop together, crystals above fall and new ones fill the gaps. Tapping a lone crystal does not use a move.
  3. Pop 5 to 6 at once for a rocket (a column if the group is taller than it is wide, a row otherwise), 7 to 8 for a bomb that clears the 5×5 around it, and 9 or more for a prism that clears every crystal of its colour. Specials appear where you tapped, and firing one by tapping it uses a move.
  4. Frost melts when the crystal on it pops or a group pops right next to it. Crates never fall; break them by popping beside them or catching them in a blast (crates with two dots take two hits).
  5. Meet every goal before your moves run out. Finishing with at least a third of the moves left earns ★★★, two or more ★★, and each unused move adds 150 points.
  6. Clearing a level unlocks the next cave in Choose stage. You can also pop with the arrow keys plus Enter or Space, or a gamepad's D-pad plus A.

Strategy tips

  • Rather than popping a big group straight away, clear small groups first to join crystals of the same colour. Pops of five or more add 15 points per crystal and make a special.
  • A special caught in another special's blast fires too. Build a rocket next to a bomb and set them off together to clear a wide area for one move.
  • On boards with a frost goal, work the lower groups sitting on frost first. Frost right beside a popped group melts as well, so popping along the frost edge is efficient.
  • A crate is only hit once per tap. On boards full of two-dot crates, such as Sturdy crates, popping several small groups beside them is more reliable than one big blast.
  • When you are unsure, press H or Hint. It makes a spot that serves your open goals sparkle, uses no moves and can be used as often as you like.

Common questions

What happens when nothing can be popped?

If there is no group of two or more and no special on the board, the plain crystals reshuffle automatically until a pop exists. The reshuffle is free and does not use a move.

How many caves are there, and what is the last one like?

There are 12 caves. Boards grow from 7×8 to 8×10 and use four or five colours depending on the level. The final cave, Kiki's great dig, asks you to break every crate, melt all frost and collect 30 lime crystals within 36 moves on an 8×10 board.

When does the Daily dig open?

It opens after you clear level 4, Gem crates. On an 8×9 board you must collect 25 magenta and 25 gold crystals and melt the frost within 32 moves, and everyone starts from the same board on the same Korean calendar day. You can try as often as you like; your best stars and score for the day are kept.

If I stop midway, do I have to start over?

No. A board in progress is saved after every tap and reopens paused. The Daily dig, however, does not carry over to a new date; you start that day's board instead.
