Zora's Sokoban Warehouse guide

Guide warehouse forewoman Zora around 7×7 rooms and push every box onto a goal square. Boxes can only be pushed, never pulled, and only one at a time, so a single careless push can seal off a whole room. Each of the twenty rooms has a par, the step count of its shortest solution, which gives every room two goals: solve it, then solve it in as few steps as possible.

How to play

  1. Press Start to open room 1. Rooms 1 to 3 hold two boxes so you can learn the rules; from room 4 on there are three or four.
  2. Tap an empty cell and Zora walks there along the shortest route that pushes nothing. Tap a box right next to her, or swipe toward it, to push it one cell.
  3. On a keyboard use the arrow keys or WASD; the on-screen direction buttons keep moving while held. On a gamepad, move with the D-pad, undo with B and pause with Start.
  4. A box will not move if a wall or another box is behind it. If you go wrong, press Z to undo one step at a time, or press R and confirm to restart the room.
  5. When every box sits on a goal the room is solved and the next one unlocks. Check your steps, par and score on the result screen, then move on.

Strategy tips

  • Finishing within par earns three stars, within par + 10 earns two. Your score starts at 1,000 and loses 10 for every step over par, with a floor of 100.
  • Undo also counts as a step. If you wasted several moves early on, restarting with R resets the count to zero and is usually cheaper than undoing repeatedly.
  • A box pushed into a corner without a goal can never come out, and a box against a wall with no goal along it can only slide along that wall. Before each push, make sure you can still walk around to the other side of the box.
  • Tapping an empty cell always walks the shortest path, so it avoids the stray steps that creep in when you walk cell by cell.
  • Par grows from 12 steps in room 1 to 75 in room 20. In the longer rooms, decide which box goes home in which order before you start pushing.

Common questions

Does undo lower my step count?

No. Undo puts Zora and the box back where they were one step earlier, but it adds 1 to your step count. Restarting the room resets the count to zero.

What happens if a box gets stuck and the room can no longer be solved?

The room is not failed automatically. Undo back to before the bad push, or press R to restart the room from the beginning.

How do I unlock the next room?

Solving the current room unlocks the next one straight away. Rooms you have already solved can be picked again from the stage list to chase a lower step count.

Do I lose my progress if I leave mid-room?

Your current room and its undo history are saved in this browser. When you come back, the same room is restored in a paused state and you can carry on.
