아이비의 비밀 코드 guide
With cipher researcher Ivy, you narrow down a hidden four-peg colour code using nothing but the feedback on each guess. Every submission tells you how many pegs are right in both colour and position and how many are the right colour in the wrong position, but never which pegs those are. There are three stages, with 6, 7 and 8 colours, and the number of possible codes grows from 1,296 to 4,096.

How to play
- Pick a stage. You get 10 guesses with 6 colours, 11 with 7 and 12 with 8, and each stage unlocks once you solve the one before it.
- Press a colour button to fill the selected peg and move on to the next one. You can tap a peg to select it directly; on the keyboard, ←→ move between pegs and ↑↓ change that peg's colour.
- Once all four pegs are filled, press Submit (Enter) for the verdict. A solid white square counts a peg right in colour and position, a faint ring counts a right colour in the wrong position, and a row with a blank peg cannot be submitted.
- Get all four right to crack the code and unlock the next stage. Run out of guesses and the round is lost and the answer is shown.
- Colours may repeat, and every colour carries a shape (● ▲ ■ ◆ ★ ♥ ✚ ☾), so the board stays readable even if colours are hard to tell apart. Gamepad: the D-pad moves and changes colours, A submits, Y takes a hint.
Strategy tips
- Always submit a code that fits every verdict so far. The guess limit is generous, so narrowing the field steadily by that rule beats rushing.
- If a guess gets zero white squares and zero rings, none of the colours in that row are in the code. Drop them and work with what is left.
- Opening with two colours twice each (for example red, red, orange, orange) quickly tells you how many of each are in the code.
- With 6 colours, cracking it within 5 guesses earns three stars and within 8 earns two (6 and 9 with 7 colours, 6 and 10 with 8). Every unused guess also adds 70 points.
- Hints (H) are three per code and reveal and lock the true colour of one peg at a time, from the left. Using one caps the stars at two and costs 60 points each.
Common questions
How are repeated colours counted?
Only as many times as they appear in the answer. If the code holds a single red and you put red in three pegs, red can account for at most one mark in total, square or ring.
What does a hint do?
It fills the leftmost unrevealed peg of your working row with its true colour, and that peg stays filled and locked in every row after. That code is then capped at two stars.
Will I lose the board if I close the window?
The board in progress is saved on the device and resumes paused when you reopen it. The R key, the Restart button and gamepad B all ask for confirmation before starting over with a new code.
