Eve's One Card guide

Korean One Card played with Eve against the computer rivals Ruby, Sora and Mina. Play a card matching the centre card's suit or rank and be the first to empty your hand; holding twenty cards means bankruptcy and a loss. Stage 1 has no specials, then J and Q arrive in stage 2, K in stage 3, the 2 and A attacks in stage 4, the 7 in stage 5 and jokers with the blocking 3 in stage 6; from stage 7 you face a third rival or sharper play.

How to play

  1. Each stage deals your hand (5 cards in stage 1, 6 in stages 2 to 4, 7 from stage 5). Playable cards are raised in your hand, so check them first.
  2. On your turn, tap a card to play it. If you cannot or would rather not play, tap the deck in the centre to draw one and pass the turn.
  3. Use the specials. J skips the next player, Q reverses direction, K lets you play again and 7 changes the suit; a 2 attacks for 2 cards, an A for 3, the A♠ and the black joker for 5 and the colour joker for 7.
  4. When attacked, pass it on with an attack card or block it with a 3 of the attacking card's suit. If you have neither, tap the deck to draw the whole pile-up.
  5. With one card left, press One card! (or O) within three seconds, or you draw a penalty card. Empty your hand to win and unlock the next stage.

Strategy tips

  • Keep one or two attack cards so you can pass an attack on. If the next rival holds only one or two cards, attack straight away to grow their hand.
  • When you play a 7, pick the suit you hold the most of. That gives you more playable cards next turn.
  • After a K you may play another card of its suit or another K. Hold a K together with cards of the same suit and chain them to shed your hand fast.
  • A joker can be played at any time outside an attack, and anything can follow it. A joker attack cannot be blocked with a 3; only another attack card passes it on.
  • ★★★ needs every remaining rival to hold four or more cards when you win. When a rival's hand starts shrinking, slow them with skips and attacks and hurry to finish.

Common questions

How do attacks chain?

While under attack you may only play attack cards that match the current suit or the rank of the top attack card. A joker can always answer, and the count keeps stacking. A 3 of the same suit as the attacking card cancels the whole pile-up.

When does bankruptcy happen?

The moment a hand reaches twenty cards. If it is yours you lose immediately; if it is a rival's, only that rival leaves the table. Be especially careful when a large attack has stacked up.

Do replays deal the same cards?

Each replay shuffles and deals a new hand. Only the daily table keeps the same deal all day; it opens after stage 4 and seats four players with every special rule.

How are stars and score decided?

A win with every remaining rival on four or more cards earns ★★★, two or more ★★, otherwise ★. The score is 1,000 per star plus 20 for every card your rivals still hold; a loss scores nothing.
