Stack Garden guide

Help head gardener Nari and horticulturist Pomi bring back the frozen seasons by swapping neighbouring seeds to line up three or more of a kind in a row or column. Each of the twelve garden paths gives you a fixed number of moves to reach a target score and, later, bloom flowers and clear vines, and the special blooms left by matches of four or more, plus their combinations, are the heart of the strategy. Restoring paths unlocks five story chapters, and after all twelve a Free Garden with no score cap carries on.

How to play

  1. Start with Garden Path 1. Paths 1-4 use a 6×6 board, 5-8 a 7×7 board and 9-12 an 8×8 board, and each path gives you between 17 and 26 moves.
  2. Slide a seed up, down, left or right, or select one seed and then a neighbour to swap them. A swap only counts if it lines up three or more matching seeds in a row or column. On a keyboard, arrow keys move focus and Enter or Space selects the two seeds.
  3. Matching four leaves a line bloom on the board, five leaves a sun bloom, and six or more leaves a prism bloom. Matching or swapping a special bloom clears a wide area at once.
  4. Matching six or more seeds in one go blooms a flower. From Path 5, flower goals appear along with vines covering some seeds; clear the cell under a vine to remove it.
  5. The path is restored the moment you meet the score, flower and vine goals, and every unused move adds 60 points. A final score of about 112% and 125% of the target raises the result to two and three stars.
  6. Nectar earned from rewards unlocks garden themes such as Coral Greenhouse (+2 moves) and Moon Glasshouse (+15% nectar). The daily garden journal (complete 2 gardens, bloom 5 flowers, score 2,500 in one run) also pays nectar.

Strategy tips

  • Swapping two adjacent special blooms fires a combo: two line blooms make a cross bloom, a sun bloom with a line bloom makes a solar lattice that clears three rows and three columns, two sun blooms make a 5×5 grand sun, a prism bloom makes a spectrum bloom, and two prism blooms clear the entire board.
  • Every match charges the Season Bloom gauge. At 100 you can pick a seed to clear its whole colour plus its row and column. Season Bloom and garden tools do not use up moves.
  • Three moves in a row that each match five or more, or a single match of eight or more, award one extra sunlight move, up to four per path.
  • From Path 9, reinforced glass vines need two hits. Weaken them first with a special bloom or tool, then finish them with an ordinary match.
  • The hint (H key) shows the best swap right now without spending moves or score, and pressing it again while the hint is showing performs that swap.

Common questions

How do I get garden tools and what do they do?

Matching five earns a Dew Sprinkler (3×3 area), six or seven earns Sun Shears (one full row and column), and eight or more earns Rainbow Pollen (every seed of one colour); path requests also award them. You can hold up to three of each and select them quickly with keys 1-3.

Is it over when I run out of moves?

If you run out without meeting the goals, once per path you can spend nectar on Last Sunlight for three more moves. The cost rises with the path number up to 180 nectar, and if you cannot afford it the game moves on to the result.

What are path requests?

They are side tasks to complete once or twice: create special blooms on Paths 1-4, trigger special blooms on Paths 5-8, and swap two special blooms together on Paths 9-12. Finishing one grants bonus points and a garden tool.

I find it hard to tell seeds apart by colour.

The five seeds, Coral Bloom, Sun Bloom, Sprout, Dewdrop and Star Lavender, carry the symbols ●▲◆■✚, which you can toggle with the Symbols button. Your board in progress and your settings are saved automatically on this device.
