피카의 노노그램 공방 guide
In pixel artist Pika's studio, read the number clues beside each row and column, work out which cells to fill, and reveal the hidden picture. There are three random-board stages at 5×5, 8×8 and 10×10, plus picture stages at 5×5 and 10×10 that draw from 13 pictures such as a heart, a house, a cat, an umbrella and a sailboat. Every board can be solved line by line with logic alone, but you are allowed only five mistakes of filling a cell that should stay blank.

How to play
- Choose an open size from the stage list. You start at 5×5; each completed board unlocks the next stage, which starts automatically a moment later. The picture stages open after you complete a random 10×10 board.
- Each clue lists, in order, the lengths of the runs of filled cells in that line. A clue of 2 1 means a run of two, then a run of one, with at least one blank between them.
- In Fill mode, tapping a cell fills it and tapping again clears it. Switch to Mark X mode to put an X on cells you know are blank.
- On a keyboard, arrow keys move and Enter paints; X switches mode, H gives a hint and R restarts the same board. On a gamepad, the D-pad moves, A paints, X switches mode, Y hints and Start pauses.
- Fill every cell the picture needs to complete it. On picture stages, the name of the finished picture is revealed.
Strategy tips
- If a line's clue numbers plus the minimum blanks between them add up to the line length, that whole line is settled. On a 10×10, look for lines like '10' or '4 5' first.
- Big numbers always cover the middle of a line. A '7' in a 10-cell line overlaps itself in the middle four cells whether you push it left or right, so those four can be filled.
- X marks never affect your score or mistakes, so use them freely. Crossing out the rest of a finished line makes the column deductions much easier.
- Do not fill a cell you are unsure of. A wrong fill counts as a mistake, and each lost mistake allowance costs 60 points at the end.
- A hint fills the next cell that logic can settle from what you have already painted. Each unused hint is worth 40 points, so save them for real dead ends.
Common questions
What happens after five mistakes?
Each time you fill a cell that should be blank, a mistake is recorded and that cell turns into an X automatically. The fifth mistake ends the board, and restarting lets you try the same board again from zero mistakes.
How are score and stars calculated?
A completed board scores 300, plus 15 per cell in the picture, plus 60 per unused mistake allowance, plus 40 per unused hint. Zero mistakes and hints combined earns three stars, three or fewer two stars, and more than that one star.
Will I ever have to guess?
No. Random and picture boards alike are only used if they can be finished by comparing every possible arrangement within single lines. If you are stuck, there is a line you have not checked yet.
Which pictures appear in the picture stages?
Picture 5×5 picks from seven: a heart, house, tree, star, cat, cup and duck. Picture 10×10 picks from six: a cat face, mushroom, umbrella, music note, teapot and sailboat. The name appears on the result screen when you finish.
